MORE ABOUT THE BUSINESS

What can you expect from me that you can't get from other stamp dealers (on the 'net or not)? Like all other dealers, I know I can't please everyone who collects stamps, but why should you do business with me? Well, that's for every collector to decide, but here are a few things I always keep uppermost in my mind when dealing with my customers. Call it a philosophy, call it a business plan, call it a credo, but here's what I try to do with my business:

- I CARRY THE WORLD - I like to collect worldwide stamps, and I know many of you do to. However, a lot of us worldwide collectors aren't considered by "serious philatelists" or "specialized dealers" to be worth bothering about. Worldwide collectors are often seen to be little better than beginners. We all know that nothing could be further from the truth. Even if you collect only inexpensive stamps, you consider yourself to be serious about the hobby, even while you're having fun with it. I think there are two important things to remember about collectors: they want to have fun and no collector should put another one down about what they collect. I carry a worldwide stock, and I will go out of my way to stock what you collect, no matter how special, unusual or hard to get.

- I TAKE EVERYTHING PHILATELIC IN TRADE - We all like to trade, because we all have duplicates. However, all of us have duplicates that, despite our best efforts, stick around, collecting dust. We all know that someone out there wants these duplicates, but how to find them a home? The quick answer is, send them to me. I take everything in trade from tens of thousands of the same common stamp to Cape of Good Hope triangles. I promise I will take care of your duplicates until I can find them a good home. In return, I want to send you stamps you can use for your collection, or better stamps for you to trade, or a whole box of stamps for you to sort through. You can send your stamps in bulk, or mount them at your own prices. If it's philatelic, I will take it.

- I DEAL WITH THE WORLD - Stamp collecting is one of the most widely spread hobbies in the world. No matter what the size of the country, chances are you will find a stamp collector there. However, not all of us live near stamp stores, or big shows, or in countries that have mail order stamp dealers. When I was a 1 for 1 trader, I traded with as many countries as I could, and I found no reason to change once I became a dealer. No matter where you live, from Toronto to Thailand, from Ontario to Oman, from Canada to Chad, I want to do business with you. In addition to your duplicates, I would love to take your mint stamps at face value in payment. I do business in more than a dozen countries (including Malta, Indonesia, Peru, and even the United States) so it doesn't matter to me where you live, please ask for what you need.

And here are a few other things about the business:

- This is a part-time business, but I spend most weekends and evenings at it.

- I have been in business since 1991. Back then I only had a few hundred dollars in approvals to send out. Now the figure is closer to twenty-five thousand. I don't have everything in stock, but there is a lot to choose from.

- I'm a member of the American Philatelic Society (and I have their part-time dealer designation), the Royal Philatelic Society of Canada, and the International Society of Worldwide Stamp Collectors.

- Your stamps are insured from the moment they arrive to me. I also carry mail insurance with a $100.00 Cdn. deductible ($100 coverage on lettermail, $4,000 coverage on secure mail).

- Thousands of stamps are available on approval from common stamps at 10 cents each to stamps priced at several hundred dollars each. If you've got the credit, I will get even more expensive stamps for you. There is never any obligation to buy; just return the stamps you don't want for a refund.

- Want to see me in person? I get to the St. Bonaventure Stamp Show once every two months (roughly) and the Ajax Stamp Club show every year. In addition to whatever is not out on approval at the time, I carry boxes of common stamps, box lots, and covers.
